Inspire! Event on Racism
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Inspire! event on Racism. It was a powerful event and now the challenge is to use the energy generated to propel action. The worst thing we can do now is nothing.
What can you do?
Did you make plans to connect again with someone of a different race who attended the event? If you didn't, we can help facilitate that. Change comes through personal relationships. Get involved, get to know your neighbor, be an agent of change.
Return this Friday at 6pm for dinner and 7pm for the movie Fences. Invite others to attend and to become part of this conversation. Invite your church family, invite young people, expand the conversation.
Educate yourself and engage in self reflection. Participate in the Harvard Implicit Bias Study at this site:
Read the Books:
- Critical Race Theory
- The Construction of Whiteness
- What Does It Mean to Be White?

Hold ourselves and others accountable, especially our politicians. Get out the votes. Get politically involved - serve locally, run for office.
Support opportunities for cultural exchange among students and adults. Extended Grace will continue to work on a Cultural Immersion Experience across the Bridge and Back.
Support minority owned businesses.
If you are white, own your privilege and leverage it to accomplish real change.
Finally, VALUE each other!
There is something every one of us can do. Let's get busy doing it!
