Teen Programming and Extended Hours
Coming in August
We reached our Crowdfunding Goal thanks to the Tri-Cities Women Who Care who selected us to receive their generous funds at their June meeting!
Jessica Hoolsema has joined us as our Teen Program Coordinator. She, along with a Teen Advisory Council including: Jordyn Nichols, Matthew Marcus, Erin Markovicz, Lily Mears, Mckenna Grennan, Jadelynn Slorf, Mia Davidson, Rachel VanDuinen, Alyssa Bowen and Lauren Sharp are planning a Teen Open House on August 11 from 2pm to 6pm at the Momentum Center. Membership in the Teen Program is open to 13- to 17-year-olds and costs $1 per year. A parent or guardian must also consent.
Until then, stop in any Saturday between 10am and 2pm to meet Jessica and share your ideas for making the Teen Program a success!
Also coming in August, expanded adult program hours!
MC Members Serve the Community
The Momentum Center is always looking for volunteers, but you may not know that Momentum Center members also SERVE this community by BEING volunteers. For instance, Momentum Center Members...
Decorated the invitations for the Coast Guard Festival dinner event
Volunteer monthly at the Harbor Humane Society fall through spring
Volunteered at the Coast Guard Festival Kids Day event
Clean, put together shelves and other items that need to be built, greet customers, tend the courtyard, wash dishes, and more for Just Goods
Maintain a flower bed on 7th Street for the City of Grand Haven
Volunteers Make It All Happen
"I’m so happy that I crossed paths with the Momentum Center, Extended Grace, and Just Goods! The people are amazing- always very welcoming. I mostly enjoy talking with all the members and learning new things about their lives. Everyone is so wonderfully different from each other, and it’s a joyful place to be. Besides the great people, I enjoy journal writing with the members- writing and sharing our ideas and feelings, and learning new things about each other and about life. It has been great place to volunteer, have fun, and just be yourself.”

Extended Grace received 274 volunteer hours for the month of June, which equals $6765.06 worth of donated time!
Thank you to all of our volunteers who dedicate their time to Extended Grace! We appreciate all that you do!
Extended Grace Members and Volunteers will be participating in the Coast Guard Festival Parade on Saturday, August 4.
We are in need of candy donations for the parade!
Any donations can be dropped off to Just Goods Gifts and Cafe' or the Momentum Center during our regular hours.
If you would like to join us in the parade, please contact Jenna at 616-414-9111 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Just Goods Gifts and Cafe' is Key to Change
Just Goods is a critical part of the mission of the Momentum Center. By selling fair trade and social change products, it raises money to support Momentum. It also creates a space for social integration where stigma is defeated. Stop in for a cup of Aldea coffee and a Leppinks doughnut. Add another dollar to Pay It Forward and cover the cost of a hot beverage for someone who doesn't have an extra dollar to spend.
Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm
Saturday 10am to 2pm (until 6pm starting in August)
Sunday 12pm to 3pm
Spend time in a place where every dollar makes a difference!
